Using workplace as an effective delivery vehicle for malaria and other health issues to inform and influence employee behavior

In support of the Dangote Group Malaria Prevention and Control Policy, Aliko Dangote Foundation, is implementing an annual Malaria Training Program for its employees and contractors in Nigeria. This is aimed at increasing awareness, prevention and control of malaria, reducing related absenteeism at Dangote workplaces, as well as providing essential information and education to employees and contractors to empower them to play active roles in reducing malaria incidence and mitigating the impact of malaria in their work and home environments. The program was launched last year training Lagos-based staff, and will be expanded to other states in Nigeria this year. All participants receive signed certificates at the completion of the training as recognition and encouragement for continued efforts to prevent malaria infections, and/or to seek appropriate testing and treatment if they should be infected.
