Women & Girls Award Winner Announced May 17 at Women Deliver

AWARDS | Johnson & Johnson Wins 2016 GBCHealth Women & Girls Business Action on Health Award

For over 20 years, Johnson & Johnson has been supporting programs to prevent and treat obstetric fistula, a debilitating injury of childbirth caused by prolonged, obstructed labor and lack of access to essential, quality healthcare services.

GBCHealth honored Johnson & Johnson with the 2016 Business Action on Health Award: Women & Girls at the 4th Women Deliver Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark. The winning program – Private Sector Pioneer in Fostering Innovative Partnerships to Prevent and Treat Obstetric Fistula – and three commended programs were selected by an external panel of judges from across sectors and regions. OPPORTUNITY | Mapping Tool Seeks to Mobilize New and Efficient Investments in Malaria

In Nigeria, a country that carries the largest malaria burden in the world, little data exists about private sector investments in malaria. The Corporate Alliance on Malaria in Africa (CAMA), in partnership with the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria, is launching a mapping tool to collect this data for the first time to better understand the scale and allocation of these investments, and to better support Nigeria’s National Malaria Elimination Agenda.
