The Global Fund is a unique public-private partnership governed by an international Board. Members of the Board include representatives of donor and recipient governments, non-governmental organizations, the private sector, private foundations and affected communities.
Key international development partners are also represented on the Board, including the World Health Organization (WHO), the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), public-private partnerships (Roll Back Malaria), the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health (PMNCH), Stop TB, Unitaid and the World Bank.
The Board is currently led by Chair Donald Kaberuka, former President of the African Development Bank, and Vice-Chair Lady Roslyn Morauta, former Alternate Board member for the Western Pacific Region constituency. The Private Sector is represented by Board Member Sherwin Charles (Nando’s/Goodbye Malaria) and Alternate Board member Paul Schaper (Merck & Co, Inc.).
