GBCHealth is pleased to have partnered with Global Health Council (GHC) in 2014 to continue recognition of innovation in multi-sector approaches to today’s most pressing health priorities through the Business Action on Health Awards. GBCHealth began presenting the Business Action on Health Awards in 1998 to companies that exemplify a spirit of innovation and help set the agenda for addressing today’s most important global health challenges.
GHC has now joined this important effort to recognize success and best practices, while providing powerful examples that inspire others to redouble their own efforts. Among the most coveted honors in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arena, the Business Action on Health awards owe their prestige in part to the rigorous evaluation procedure undertaken by our panel of internationally- respected independent judges – about two dozen experts drawn each year from across the private, non-profit and academic, multilateral and government sectors.
This year’s applicants applied for awards in the Community Investment and Partnership/Collective Action categories. The finalists in each category are:
- Winner: GlaxoSmithKline – 20% Reinvestment Initiative
- Commended: Shell – Obio Community Health Insurance Scheme
- Commended: Association Saude Crianca – An Integral Perspective of Health
